History
Isolated from naturally-infected Thicket Rats captured in CAR in 1965 (Landau and Chabaud). Passaged (Paris) and through mosquito (London). Uncloned isolate sent to Edinburgh from LSHTM, 1966. -> 10x mouse passage, 3x G. surdaster passage, 3x An. stephensi transmission, Pyrimethamine selection, 12x mouse passage, 28x G. surdaster passage, 15x An. stephensi transmission, cloning, 17X(Pr1) clone; deep froze stabilate 11/10/71.
