Isolated from naturally-infected Thicket Rats captured in CAR in 1965 (Landau and Chabaud). Uncloned isolate sent to Edinburgh from LSHTM, 1968. -> 8x mouse passage, 2x G. surdaster passage, 2 An stephensi transmission, cloning (743C); deep froze stabilates 6/8/74. Refroze 18/2/10
